The most magical time of the year has come. The Summer Solstice. It is the culmination point in nature, when everything is blossoming, days are long and nights so short. We want to be part of it. We want to receive all that energy from nature and bloom together with it. And nature gives us that opportunity. This week the wild plants are most full of heeling properties and nourishment, meanwhile they are still soft and gentle to share all the good things after harvest! How to know what to pick up? It turns out that our body already knows what it will need. We just need to listen!
Last year in a women’s gathering I met a girl who practiced healing with plants. And I asked her how to know what to pick. I live in the country where you step onto some medicine with your first step into meadow. And I can’t pick up all of them. It’s not efficient. She told me that our body cells have memory about everything that has happened in the past and also knowledge about everything that will happen in future. So our body already knows what it will need. Just take a walk into meadow and listen to your intuition. There will be some plants that will talk more to you. There will be some flowers that you will want to pick up more than others. Just believe in yourself and take them. That will be my medicine for the next year.
So I did. I picked up four plants and took them with me to Mexico. On the third day I was told by an old wise lady to drink some detox tea for my liver. And I had the red clover with me. Later I fell down with a motorcycle and used a lot of meadowsweet to stay relaxed in bed and help the wounds heal faster. Then my hormones started playing with my skin and I used alchemilla. And when the winter came with a few cold breezes, we washed all the flu and cough away with yarrow tea! And I didn’t need anything else. I had with me everything my body needed.
This week I’m returning to the fields to listen to my intuition and pick up my medicine for the next year. Hope to see you there!
